Here at the Millimetre Salons we recently introduced a new range from Pureology Strength Cure Best Blonde, a mix between two of their best sellers: Platinum Perfect and Strength Cure.
If you lighten your hair, you could benefit from using a purple shampoo, also knows as silver shampoo, to keep your hair looking less brassy (side note: you can also try a toner – more on this here).
UV rays from the sun, chlorine, mineral impurities in the water can all mess with your hair colour and create those dreaded brassy/yellow undertones.
And while typically you may see purple shampoo for blonde hair, brunettes who lighten their hair by Bayalage or Ombré can benefit from the toning formula too, since they often experience the same type of brassiness.
Using specialist shampoo is a key step in keeping your hair colour looking fresh, vibrant, and like you just stepped out of the salon.
How often should you use silver shampoo?
You can either use it daily in place of your standard shampoo or whenever you feel like your colour is starting to go a little brassy and needs a quick refresh. Apply just as you would a normal shampoo and then rinse off according to the desired effect you want to create…
Warm Blondes: Wait 1-3 minutes before rinsing
Neutral Blondes: Wait 3-5 minutes before rinsing
Cool Blondes: Wait 5-15 minutes before rinsing
